Las Vegas Trip - Freemont Street Experience

This was my third trip to Las Vegas and this time I finally got to go to Freemont Street. Freemont Street is "downtown" and is probably more like the Vegas of old. To keep this area in competition with the infamous Strip, somebody had an idea to cover the entire street with a giant canopy/big screen tv.................the result being like an indoor-outdoor mall of sorts.

Lot's of neon and lightbulbs..........this is where the Freemont Hotel and the infamous Binion's Hotel and Casino are............along with assorted gift shops and kiosks.

There is a huge sound system with speakers located just about everywhere.

It is pretty impressive.......even when it isn't showtime.............

.........there is also more of a "blue-collar" atmosphere here than it is on the "Strip".

That's Supernurse on the right.........with her two sisters.

All of a sudden...........showtime! The lights went out........the music started and the giant screen lit up and spewed forth a video of the song "Born To Be Wild".

It was like MTV on steroids with Fourth Of July psychedelic graphics in your face.

I was impressed........and the best part is that it is free........hehehe.

If you ever go to Vegas......make sure you get to Freemont Street and check it out.

That's it for now.......more to come tomorrow.......stay tuned.
